Although "Australian Velvet" is a general term for high-end upholstery-grade velvet sold in the region, this specific variant is characterized by a durable 100% polyester composition, which provides a plush cotton velvet feel while offering exceptional strength (often exceeding 100,000 Martindale rubs). With a heavy weight of approximately 370-400 GSM and a standard width of 140cm (55"), this fabric is often fire-retardant (AS/NZS 1530 compliant). Its short, dense pile ensures a soft, fluid hand feel and a subtle, stunning shimmer that enhances deep color reproduction. Available in customized colors and custom designs for volume orders.
